Years ago, I used to run a monthly feature on this blog called Lust List, where I’d share five lovely things that I’d been yearning for that month. Each month’s list was themed and it seems like a good format to revive for the festive season as there are some rather delicious lingerie sets out there that I’ve had my eye on. Christmas is a time for glamour but also a time for comfort, so I’ve included options that fit both of those requirements. Do remember though, if you are buying for someone else and are not 100% sure of their size, a gift voucher is always a much better option!
Rosie for M&S Red Rose Cami and French Knickers
I couldn’t really have a festive lingerie list without something from the iconic high street brand M&S. Their Rosie range continues to be beautiful and affordable, with lots of lovely styles and colours to choose from. My pick would be the rose print silk cami, silk French knickers, and co-ordinating dressing gown (sadly not in silk though). With this being M&S, of course the silk is machine washable.
Playful Promises x Kiss Me Deadly ‘Yva’ Bra and ‘Kestosque’ Suspender
I just had to include Playful Promises, who are doing a lovely little 12 days of Christmas promotion this year. There are plenty of fantastic styles to choose from, but if you want to turn yourself into a gift to be unwrapped on Christmas Day, it has to be the Yva black bow front bra (which comes in an astonishing number of sizes!) and the coordinating Kestosque black suspender belt. These styles are made in collaboration with another UK-based indie brand, Kiss Me Deadly, so the retro glamour levels are through the roof.
Savage x Fenty ‘A Peek Behind the Lace’ Bralette & Sleep Shorts
At this time of year, I really can’t resist bows so had to include another bow-themed set, but this one is much more cute than glamourpuss. I’ve not yet bought anything from Savage x Fenty, because I have to admit that I find the website and VIP pricing very confusing, but designs like the A Peek Behind The Lace bralette and sleep shorts keep tempting me to give them a go. If you’ve bought anything from them and can let me know whether the quality and sizing are any good, drop a comment below.
Miss Vivienne ‘Stella’ Balcony Bra, Briefs & Robe
I was so excited when Miss Vivienne revealed her new festive style in a beautiful teal-coloured gingham-effect tulle with gold hardware, and made sure that I got my order in as soon as her shop opened for pre-Christmas orders. Unfortunately, because I was slow in putting this post together and this lingerie is all made to order (Miss Vivienne closes her shop once she’s at capacity with the number of orders her little brand can make), you have missed the boat on getting your order in before Christmas. However, Miss Vivienne does have some cute stocking fillers that are still shipping.
Lovehoney ‘Captivate’ Wine Chiffon High Neck Basque Set
I have to admit to never having purchased lingerie from Lovehoney myself, due to my preference for a supportive underwired bra and their lack of options for small-back/full-bust, but I’ve been seeing some wonderful styles shared by influencers on Instagram over the last year. They have an entire section of their website devoted to Christmas lingerie – going all the way from fancy dress to full on glamour – but I have to admit that their Fifty Shades of Grey Captivate collection really earned its name for me with the wine chiffon high neck basque set. Much more practical than a bodysuit (in my opinion!) and just drop dead gorgeous. I’ve included an image at the top of this post.
