If you’re thinking of splashing out on some fancy frillies for Valentine’s Day this year, but can’t quite make up your mind where to spend your hard earned cash, let me be of assistance. Why not go with a fashionable brand with a broad size range who will donate a portion of the sale to charity? London-based Playful Promises, a longstanding favourite of Rarely Wears Lipstick, is running a campaign to fight ovarian cancer over the Valentine’s season.
Ovarian Cancer kills 11 women every single day in the UK, with survival rates among the worst in Europe. As you might imagine from a proudly feminist brand, the team at Playful Promises believe it’s important to give back to a cause that affects so many women. The brand is donating 20% of sales on selected items to UK charity Target Ovarian Cancer and US charity OCRFA Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.
“On a personal note, having lost my mother at a young age to ovarian cancer, I want to help raise funds that will hopefully mean that one day no women or families will have to endure this loss.” – Emma Parker, Playful Promises Director
Playful Promises has included a selection of lingerie across their wide size range, from Core 32-36 A-D, Fuller bust 30-36 DD-G (UK), Curve 38 B-G, 40-42 C-G (UK) and briefs UK 8-24. Shades of red run from the rich burgundy of the quarter cup Marlene set, to the lipstick red Love set, making perfect Valentine’s gifts.
The brand have created new, sumptuous imagery to sit alongside the campaign, and are also using social media to highlight important details about ovarian cancer, such as symptoms, in order to raise awareness.
You can shop the charity selection until 15th February 2018 on the Playful Promises website.
