April Lust List: Debenhams

I sometimes walk past the Oxford Street flagship Debenhams store on my way to work and their windows have been rather eye catching recently, partly due to some amazing garments from their many fantastic designer diffusion ranges. When it came to compiling a Lust List for April, it had to be a selection from this iconic British department store. I might do another one on their lingerie or swimwear soon too!

I’m loving the amount of gingham and ruffles around for SS17, and this shirt has the perfect mix of tailored and feminine. The ruffles are subtle, the high neck is strong and I love the sleeve length. There is also a ruffled skirt in the same fabric, but I feel like I’ve seen a lot of these around this season, whereas the shirt feels a bit more original.

2) J by Jasper Conran Dark red full skirt shirt dress
Now this is what I call a shirt dress! Long with a full skirt and… pockets! Simply cut with great sleeves and a wonderful colour, this is an extremely practical and elegant day dress. Definitely one for when you’re feeling like an in control grown-up.

3) Nine by Savannah Miller Black rose print dress
I’m a sucker for a rose print on a dark background and this belted dress with a contrast panel really hits the spot. The neckline, sleeve length and skirt length are all fantastic, but sadly it’s sold out in my size. Grab one while you can, or get the blouse in the same print.

4) Studio by Preen Red ruffled tea dress
This lovely red tea dress caught my eye on a mannequin in store and I immediately fell in love. It looks far better in person than it does on their site. In fact, pretty much everything in this range looks better than it does on that model! I reckon this would be effortless to wear and could easily be dressed up or down for different occasions.

5) Todd Lynn/EDITION Black buckled pinafore dress
I do love the current trend for dungarees and pinafore dresses. Something about them just screams ‘practical’, perhaps because it’s often the sort of thing a toddler is dressed in? This pinafore has the classic buckled straps but is made from a light fabric and has an interesting back detail to make it that little bit different. The only think it’s missing is pockets.
