The weather is getting colder and so, for my final Lust List of the year, I have decided to go for a cosy feel and focus on luxurious loungewear and sleepwear. Most of us get some time off over the festive period and, if you’re like me, at least some of it will involve not getting dressed. Just because you’re not going outside, doesn’t mean that the glamour levels need to drop off completely though. Here’s my top five, with (hopefully) something for every style and budget.
1) Nine by Savannah Miller knitted dressing gown
This basically looks like a giant cardigan which the lone reviewer on the Debenhams site thinks is a bad thing (come on, you can totally see it is from the photo!), but I reckon that makes it perfect for curling up over the festive break. Seriously, who hasn’t wished their favourite cardigan was a bit more like a cosy cocoon of warmth on a cold day at home?
2) M&S Collection floral satin nightdress
The big print on this long v-neck nightdress (see right) is classic and works really well on something long and bias cut. I love a dark floral for winter and monochrome is perfect. There’s also a co-ordinating long wrap in this print and, if nighties aren’t your thing, some rather lovely sleeveless pyjamas.
3) Betty Blues fleece ‘Bettie” robe
OK, I know… I mentioned this beauty in last November’s Lust List, but how could I not mention it again?! As you can see from the image at the top of the post, it’s just so cute! I have this robe in peach satin and I’m pretty sure it’s the ultimate in glamour.
4) Nu Ami ‘London’ pyjama
I absolutely wish I was tall enough to carry off a look like this. The London Pyjama in midnight black is pure gentlewoman style and pretty much a stylish nightwear version of black tie. The co-ordinating robe is also stunningly simple. I first discovered Nu Ami at this year’s Stylist Live event and loved their range of cup sized sleep bralettes, chemises, camisoles, shorts, robes and pyjamas.
5) Bettie Page peach ostrich feather robe
If you love retro glamour but prefer to relax in a light slip of a thing with the heating turned up, then the peach ostrich feather robe from Bettie Page Lingerie is probably for you. This is a new vintage-inspired lingerie line from Playful Promises which has some pretty killer looks going on, but my favourite so far is the cute flirty robe, babydoll and French knicker.
