I’ve become somewhat obsessed with leopard print over the last few weeks and so I suppose it was inevitable that September’s Lust List has become rather animal. The problem with this type of print is that there’s a lot of it around but, especially in underwear, the vast majority is really not very good at all! So, after much rummaging around, here’s my top five finds.
1) Agent Provocateur x Charlotte Olympia W.I.L.D Teddy
I love Charlotte Dellal’s personal style and have a fondness for her footwear designs, but have neither the budget nor the feet for such expensive heels. So when I saw that she’d collaborated on a mini-collection with Agent Provocateur, I was looking forward to seeing what they’d come up with. This tie waisted, ruffle edged leopard print teddy is the perfect combination of glamour and cheekiness.
2) Sculptresse ‘Flirtini’ set
Sometimes a brand moves away from the classic leopard print and it just works so well. This is one such occasion (see right). The Panache brand Sculptresse have made a wonderful purple animal print set that is just about perfect. The only think I’m not keen on is the name!
3) What Katie Did ‘Margaret’ lingerie
I love a good old classic pin up style and the Margaret set from What Katie Did doesn’t disappoint. With a pop of bright pink, the print is still just about classic enough to not come across as garish. I love that they’ve styled it with a pink corset too (see top image).
4) Mimi Holliday ‘Frost Leopard’ Balcony Bra
This style is on its way out so there are not many sizes to be had. It’s a lovely take on the leopard theme, with soft colours and a nice silk satin fabric. Shame it’s not a continuity line as it’s really quite classic. [UPDATE: It’s now sold out, but Figleaves do still have some more leopard print options.]
5) Tutti Rouge ‘Nichole’ non-padded bra
You can’t get much better than a semi-sheer non-padded bra in a dark leopard print. This would coordinate with all my black briefs and would look fantastic under a sheer blouse (or is that a step too far?). I’m definitely adding this one to my wish list!
