Camilla Elphick: Going Places

I first discovered Camilla Elphick back in 2013 when she’d just graduated from the BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear course at London College of Fashion. Her graduate collection was a massive hit in the LCF pop-up College Shop that year, and I bagged myself a pair of her gorgeous candy coloured donut print heels. The PEZ heels sold out before I’d even got there and now she has an entire classic collection of them!

Her latest Spring / Summer 2016 collection, entitled Going Places, is crammed full of wonderful prints, cut outs and immensely wearable styles that are both eye-catching and practical. These printed sandals (below) and laser cut floral heels (bottom) are my absolute favourites because (a) ankle strap platforms are impossibly glamorous, and (b) more people should make closed toe summer shoes because some of us like wearing hosiery and/or not painting our toe nails in the warmer months. In addition, the lookbook appears to have been shot in Sketch which is where I was sipping cocktails with another LCF alumna only last week. Next time I’m there, I shall have to raise a glass to Camilla’s success.
