My favourite thing about this bra, other than the wonderful shape it gives, is the removable ‘cookies’. I can’t remember the last time I was able to wear a padded bra that fits, because most manufacturers don’t make them for anything over a DD cup. Funnily enough, many women with larger breasts like to have an extra boost too – especially if, like me, they have a larger bottom than bust – and the removable pads means we get to choose. The padding sits at the bottom of the cups and the fan lace covers a pale fabric that perfectly highlights the pattern, while the back of the bra and briefs are both made from sheer black powernet. Both are finished with a large soft black satin bow on the centre front.
As I mentioned in my review of the Mia, Playful Promises sent me a 32F and a 34F to try in both bras, and the 34F was ideal in the Brigitte too. The wires sat perfectly flat in the centre and didn’t press on breast tissue at the sides, and there was no overspill on the cup. I’m mostly a 32F in the bras I’ve purchased recently (Freya and Triumph), but sometimes a 32 back is too tight these days so this 34F is not an unexpected perfect fit. A good friend tried the 32F (having recently purchased that size from Panache) and it was a great fit for her too. Although the straps on this bra are not as adjustable as those on Mia, I was still able to get a comfortable fit on my short body.
The matching briefs are extremely low cut at the front but, despite my preference for big pants, I found that they were surprisingly flattering. That still doesn’t mean you get a photo though, so you’re just going to have to take my word for it that the XL was a perfect fit on my size 16 bum. If Playful promises would make some of their wonderful high waist briefs in this fan lace fabric, I’d be first in line to buy a couple of pairs to go with this gorgeous bra.
DISCLOSURE: I was sent a Brigitte bra and briefs free to review by Playful Promises.
