5 dresses that make me wish for spring

Whistle & Wolf Blossom Print Peplum DressOh, how I love online window shopping at this time of year. All the reward with none of the rain, cold wind, or slow-moving shoppers. My post-Christmas sale browsing has led me to spot a few non-sale items that have got me wishing for warmer weather and a bigger bank balance. Most of them have been dresses, so here’s my top five…

Whistle & Wolf blossom print peplum dress
Just look at the stunning hand drawn print on this dress (see right), and the beautiful colours. As well as a peplum – which, I’m sorry, I still love – it has a lovely flattering neckline and is made from stretch satin, so it has a good chance of fitting even if you have a top heavy or pear-shaped figure. I want this dress so much.

Louche ‘Allegra’ dress
I love the bright blue colour of this one, plus the lace inserts add a nice touch. Looks like it might be on the short side, so good for those of you who like to flash a bit of leg. The only thing that lets this dress down is the dreaded words “hand wash”. But that’s probably because I’m lazy.

Francesca striped swing dress by CollectifCollectif ‘Francesca’ swing dress
This gorgeous nautical frock (see left) came to my attention when Collectif gave their Instagram followers a sneak peek of the SS14 collection. Red, white and blue, with a flattering neckline and a full skirt, it is so perfect for me that I’m really looking forward to it going on sale. In the meantime, I’ll be lusting after their adorable ‘Violet’ polka dot print dress.

Fever ‘Arlington’ skater dress in peacock print
I’m a sucker for a peacock feather print, and this dress gives it a nice twist with the pale blue colour scheme. The v-neck and full skirt mean it will be flattering on a variety of figures, and it’s a great length too.

Tara Starlet check shirt dress
This delightful shirt dress has a gorgeous full skirt and a lovely gingham style check. The pink and blue versions are perfect for this season’s candy pastels trend but, with a black belt and buttons, they also manage to look grown up. It’s a classic style that won’t go out of date.

Have you seen any fabulous frocks in the new SS14 collections? If you have any favourites, do share them in the comments as I love finding new brands and styles.
