Review: Sports bra by Panache

I was very fortunate to be sent a Panache Sport bra following my recent post for their ‘Support Every Move’ campaign. Until then I had never tried the brand and it was a welcomed surprise to be sent a product that I knew very little about, and given the opportunity to test it. I was sent the Panache Sport bra in coral, which is a change from my usual choice of black, and it’s making me think of investing in more bright colours for my running kit. The range features more even colours – including black and white – in cup sizes B-H.

Panache Sports BraPanache’s encapsulated design (each breast is supported in its own cup) features a lightweight microfibre fabric and breathable mesh panels that ensures moisture is wicked away from the skin and keeps you cool. The wide padded straps disperse pressure on the shoulders for extra comfort, there are smooth moulded inner cups to reduce friction, and the deep ‘V’ panel separates the cups so you avoid the dreaded ‘mono- boob’! The firm underband keeps the bra secure to the body and it has a 3-hook and eye back fastening, meaning you have none of the fiddly clips that have featured in recent sports bras. There’s also a hook so you can adjust the straps to a ‘racer back’. It’s the first sports bra I’ve used that has underwiring, which is surprisingly comfortable and securely sewn between the layers of fabric, so there is no risk of it coming out in the wash. Lastly – and an important feature – is that it’s a good looking sports bra and one that if you are inclined you could wear without a top.

The main question; ‘How was it to run in?’

After the initial ‘bounce test’ (in the privacy of my own home, I might add!), I went on a 3 mile run. The sports bra was very comfortable and I didn’t notice I had it on, which is great as the last thing you want distracting you is a strap digging into your collar bone or chafing around the band. There was minimal movement and I felt secure whilst performing high intensity moves such as jump squats and lunges at the end of the run. So, if you are looking into replacing your existing sports bra or simply looking for new kit, I highly recommend trying Panache’s Sport range.
