Joanna’s Wardrobe

I only properly discovered Joanna’s Wardrobe last month when I opened the Kiss Me Deadly newsletter and saw a photograph of a rather gorgeous teddy. The claret stretch satin of this limited edition version of the Cherie teddy (see photo on the right) was exclusive to online lingerie retailer Joanna’s Wardrobe, so I clicked on the link to take a closer look. With a style that’s based on a 1950s teddy, this gorgeous garment is basically a closed gusset version of the Candy chemise I bought back in 2011, so it’s going to be a sure fire hit in the comfort department as well as looks. I pondered splashing out, but there was really only one thing I wanted from Kiss Me Deadly… and that was the Elle robe.

When I finally decided I had to have it, the KMD site was sold out of all but the largest size, so I popped back to Joanna’s Wardrobe and placed my first order. The package arrived super fast and I was extremely excited to try on my new robe, but sadly the size I’d selected was a little bit large at the waist. I got in touch and asked if I could exchange it, and was told it would be no problem at all. I even managed to get the replacement in time for my photoshoot.

So, their customer service is great and they stock Kiss Me Deadly. What other reasons do you need to shop there? If you need some, I have a few! They stock lingerie, corsets, swimwear and nightwear from brands like What Katie Did, Playful Promises, Ayten Gasson and Vollers, plus hosiery from the likes of Gio and Jonathan Aston. You can browse by size, style or brand, and they have members only discounts if you sign up, plus a wish list feature. In addition to all this, they even have their own range of retro bras, girdles and suspender belts. The result of a constant search for variety, quality and individuality, Joanna’s Wardrobe have put together a range of vintage-inspired lingerie and shapewear in a variety of colours and cheesecake pin-up patterns. You can’t go wrong with black, white, red and hot pink colours, plus spots, stripes and cherry prints!

My favourites from the range are the Cherry roll-on girdle, the Betsy girdle in black or red, the high-waisted Dotty girdle, the Isabella French knickers, and the gorgeous Ella deep knickers. Just as well they have a wish list feature as I’m not sure where to begin with that shopping list! The girdles all have six suspender straps and are made from sturdy yet glamorous fabric that helps smooth out any lumps and bumps, and the knickers are made from comfy stretch satin and lace or mesh (depending on the style). If I get my hands on some soon, I’ll be sure to post a review.

Joanna’s wardrobe is an independent online retailer offering offer products that they think women really want, together with the advice and assistance you’d expect in a specialist boutique. They stock quality lingerie from small independent brands and are extremely proud of their customer service. On the evidence I’ve seen so far, it certainly looks like they’re getting it right!
