As you’ll have seen from my post on latex fashion earlier this month, rubber is no longer reserved for fetishwear. However, unless you’re Lady Gaga, it can be tricky to work latex into an everyday outfit. If you’re keen on the idea but don’t know where to begin, I’ve got some great news for you. I discovered this week that Playful Promises founder, Emma Parker, has been designing a small limited edition range of accessories with Kaori Matsubarafor from Kaori’s Latex Dreams. There are currently three pieces available, with more to follow in exciting new colours!
Available only at Playful Promises, the first mini-collection includes a gorgeous floral hair fascinator (pictured above, £45), cute fingerless gloves (£22) and, for the burlesque beauties amongst you, nipple pasties (a mere £18!) all designed to match certain sets of Playful Promises lingerie. Each piece handmade in the UK using a stunning metallic pink and high quality black latex. Playful Promises point out that:
“Latex continues to become a staple in the fashion world, with the likes of Lady Gaga, Madonna and Cheryl Cole donning delicious rubber. Kaori’s couture designs show that latex can be sophisticated as well as a little bit naughty, and definitely not to be kept hidden!”
With even Kelly Brook getting in on the act, latex is definitely going mainstream. So, why not grab yourself a gorgeous accessory or two now, and then branch out to bag yourself more wardrobe items once the weather gets a bit cooler?
