Summer swimwear glamour

I don’t sunbathe and I hardly ever swim but, for some reason, this year I’m getting rather obsessed with bikinis, bathing suits and anything beach related. Staying glamorous in the summer is always a tricky business, but there are plenty of brands offering fab swimwear which will make that task much easier.

Retro styling is often a good way to go for a glamorous look. What Katie Did’s 2012 swimsuit is available in three colours and has gorgeous retro styling. If you prefer a two-piece, they have a fab retro bikini too. If you like a bit of a rockabilly edge to your summer look, For Luna’s cherry print retro swimsuit is fantastic, and their red retro bikini is simple yet stunning. Easy to accessorise with a hair flower and some comfy wedge sandals. Kiss Me Deadly have some fantastic vintage-inspired swimwear due out soon too. Check out their Facebook page for more information.

Paolita have some wonderfully glamorous beachwear in their 2012 collection and my favourite is probably the Carmen Miranda style (pictured). For the larger busted amongst you, Storm in a D Cup have great swimwear, including some fantastic bright one-piece bathing suits. Freya’s Fever swimsuit is also great for 1950s style with added support. ASOS have a number of classic styles that will last you for a few years of poolside glamour, including a cute ruched skirted swimsuit and a plunge front backless one-piece. Their floral print sweetheart neckline suit is also rather lovely if you want something ‘on trend’ and, if you don’t care about tan lines, their parrot print bikini is fantastic.

Chuck a simple kaftan in your beach bag so you can cover up if and when needed, take a sun hat in case there’s no shade, and don’t forget your Jackie Ohh shades. Reading a book in public has never been this glamorous!
