With the help of the lovely ladies at Lovehoney, I have begun to discover that there is a sex toy for every bit of fun you can think of, and a whole load more that you can’t. Each week I shall look at a different category of sex toys but, like my last A-to-Z, they won’t always be quite what you think. As you might imagine, all links are NSFW!
Sex toys come in a variety of shapes and forms, and are also made from a variety of different materials. One of the most beautiful of these is glass. While you may think that glass is too fragile for this type of use, sex toys are usually made from a medical grade glass which is non-toxic and withstands extreme temperatures as well as physical shock. As it’s a non-porous material, it’s very easy to wipe clean and keep sterile. Also, you can heat it or cool it to enhance your play with different temperatures – just remember that, while the glass can withstand extreme temperatures, the human body can’t! There are a couple of great video on the Lovehoney site where Annabelle Knight explains a bit more about glass sex toys and how you can use them for safe temperature play. Well worth watching.
Glass dildos come in many shapes – ranging from the basic to the outrageous – with lots of colours, designs and surface patterns available. There are glass dildos that look exactly like sex toys, and some that you could leave out in full view without an eyebrow being raised. They are often beautiful objects to look at and hold, in addition to their primary use. Some are designed to hit the g-spot, and you can even get glass butt plugs. As they are solid, you can apply vibrations to one end and feel them all the way through, allowing them to turn a simple clitoral bullet into a g-spot vibrator. I personally love the look of the Lovehoney Galaxy Orgasmic Glass Dildo, with its swirling patterns and curved shape. Definitely one to add to the wishlist!
