With the help of the lovely ladies at Lovehoney, I have begun to discover that there is a sex toy for every bit of fun you can think of, and a whole load more that you can’t. Each week I shall look at a different category of sex toys but, like my last A-to-Z, they won’t always be quite what you think. As you might imagine, all links are NSFW!
If you’re just starting out on a more adventurous path, a bit of sensory deprivation is often a great way to heighten the other senses and make every touch more exciting. The easiest sense to restrict is always sight, but blindfolds can often allow for peeking, so make sure you get hold of a decent one like the Bondage Boutique Deluxe Leather Blindfold so that there’s no chance of seeing what comes next. And what does come next? Lots of different sensations, of course. When your partner can’t see what you’re doing, it frees you up to use all sorts of things on their skin to find out what they like most.
Feathers are often the first choice for newbies but, if you’re ticklish, they can often be more annoying than sensual. Instead, let your mind run wild with more extreme possibilities. Remember, even something that seems scary can be used gently at first. Try some temperature play and see if they like heat by using low melting point candles or cold, which can be administered via ice or a metal toy that has been popped in the fridge.
A bit of pain can be administered with your hands through pinching or scratching, or via something like adjustable nipple clamps or a pinwheel. If you already know that you or your partner likes a bit of pain and fancy trying something a bit different, you should perhaps check out the Kinklab Neon Wand. This is definitely not a toy to keep the blindfold on with though, as the glow looks amazing as it delivers sparks of electricity to your skin!
In the coming weeks I will cover a few more toys that you can add to your collection for alternative types of play. I know the suggestions won’t be enough for some of you, but I suspect that the more experienced folk already have a full kit bag anyway! If you have any good recommendations that fit into a particular category, feel free to share them in the comments.
This is an interesting post about different kind of sex toys. I like the information you have shared. Keep up the good work.
Now, I love a little kinkiness and am enthusiastic about playing with temperature – but do make sure you keep your metal toys in the FRIDGE and not the freezer! Peeling ones delicate parts from you metal wand of joy is not sexy!
